Karma?

Do you believe in this?
WHAT GOES AROUND COMES BACK AROUND?
I do believe in this for the past 20 years.
This is a way to teach moral values. To tell people not to be "evil" because they will experience the consequences. If you do something good, you will get beneficial "feedback" from that.
It sounds pretty cool and it can somehow motivate people to be good.
Because, there is no one in this world, who will want to suffer.

Yes, that's what we called Karma.
This term becomes more popular these days, especially among teenagers and young adults.
But now, it sounds ridiculous to me.
IT IS SO NOT TRUE!!!
Sit back and look at the unfortunate ones.
Not all of them did "bad" things.
They should not be treated so by the so called "karma".
I'll never believe in karma.

Dear xin rou dear.. =)

I might not be the expert on this, but this is what i have learnt about karma so far.. =)

Karma is not as simple as 'what you do, that's what you get' in a simple transparent time line that you can really observe in others' life.

It is an accumulation not just from bodily actions, but also from thoughts and mental activity like good/bad intentions. Yes! what you think matters too! that's why karma is also called intention. =)

And also it is an accumulation not only from the present actions, but also past actions.

Taking example why a bad guy keeping doing bad things, but he's very rich, full of luxuries and happiness.. on the other hand a guy who is always kind, giving service to others, etc, but always live in misery, just have a lot of bad lucks, very unfortunate!

The past karma can explain this, perhaps in past lives, the 'bad' guy had done a lot of giving, donation, a lot of meritorious deeds, that's why now he's enjoying his good karma in present life. while the poor guy had done alot of bad things, stealing, bullying, etc, and now his bad karma is ripe and now he's suffering because of it. Depending on whether the effects of the karma is immediate or not, the effects might take place in seconds, months, years, or next next next lives! =)

But don't worry! the karma is always fair..
now that the bad guy is doing bad things, and the poor good guy starts doing sth good.. sooner or later, in present lives or future lives, they will enjoy their bad karma and good karma respectively. things will change around! =)

There's alot more things about karma is about.. it is very complex since our behaviour and actions are very complex too.
but regardless all of those, it is very fair and governs everything/everyone in the universe without the need for them to believe it or not...
because basically it's just simple science! The mutual forces of action and reaction between two bodies are equal!
Yeah, what you do is what you get is correct, but in the bigger picture! =)

Hope this may help you to understand a lil bit more about karma.. =)

i'm still learning also..but i'm open for any discussion.. =)

Have a good mid break xin rou! ^^

Xin Rou, I kinda agree with you. I never believed in karma. Yea, like what Devi said, it's much more than "what you do what you get", rather its often associated with past lives.

I've heard of extreme cases in other countries where ppl refuse to help those on the streets or those suffering just cause they think that those on the streeets deserved it and it's caused by karma. Prob some bad things that they've done in their past lives cause them to suffer now.

I don't believe in Karma. But i believe in "reaping what you sow". Hope it enlightens u abit. ;)
